OPAL Actively Organizes Merchandisers to Participate in TUV Rheinland Online Training to Enhance Product Safety Management

On December 12, 2024, OPAL actively organized all merchandisers to participate in an online training session conducted by TUV Rheinland. This training focused on the new General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) of the European Union, aiming to ensure that the company’s products fully comply with the latest regulatory requirements and enhance the level of product safety management, thereby providing consumers with higher-quality and safer products.

During the training, experts from TUV Rheinland provided an in-depth interpretation of the new regulation (EU) 2023/988. This regulation, which came into force on June 12, 2023, and will be fully implemented as of December 13, 2024, sets more stringent standards for product safety and applies to various products placed or made available on the market, including children’s products, stationery, food contact materials, and many other fields. The experts elaborated on key aspects such as the scope of application, safety requirements, obligations of various economic operators, and market surveillance measures of the regulation. They emphasized the core responsibilities of manufacturers in product safety, such as conducting internal risk analysis, preparing technical documentation, ensuring clear product labeling, and promptly notifying all parties in the supply chain of any safety issues. For products sold online and through distance sales, economic operators are required to clearly provide information including manufacturer details, product identification, warnings, and safety information. Moreover, after the implementation of the regulation, market surveillance will be significantly strengthened, and products that do not meet safety requirements may face recalls, removals from the market, and other measures. Economic operators are obligated to promptly notify relevant authorities in case of accidents and provide effective remedies to consumers.

OPAL has always placed a high premium on product quality and safety. This training is an important step taken by the company to actively respond to regulatory changes and ensure product safety. Through in-depth study of the new regulation, OPAL’s merchandisers will further optimize work processes to ensure that the entire process from product design to sales complies with EU standards. The company will continue to maintain close cooperation with professional institutions like TUV Rheinland, continuously improve product quality and safety management, provide consumers with safer and more reliable products, and enhance the company’s competitiveness in international trade.
