On August 28, 2024, OPAL invited the chemical manager Annie Liang of TÜV Rheinland to conduct a comprehensive training session for all Opal merchandisers. The training aimed to enhance the understanding of the complex REACH regulations and their implications for OPAL’s business operations.
The training covered a wide range of crucial topics. Firstly, it delved into the market supervision measures and customer requirements under the EU REACH regulations. This provided valuable insights into the regulatory landscape that OPAL must navigate to ensure compliance and meet customer expectations.
The REACH regulatory requirements were also thoroughly discussed. The session focused on SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) and the restrictions outlined in Appendix 17. Understanding these high-profile substances and limitations is crucial for minimizing risks and ensuring product safety.
The training further explored the REACH SVHC testing methods. This knowledge is vital for accurately identifying and managing potential hazards in OPAL’s products. Moreover, the session covered REACH hazardous substances related to light industrial products, highlighting the specific challenges and considerations for this sector.
To enhance the learning experience, a question-and-answer session was also included. The merchandiser had the opportunity to ask their specific questions face-to-face and engage in in-depth discussions. This interactive format allowed for a deeper understanding of the complex topics and enabled the sharing of practical experiences and solutions.
The training received an overwhelmingly positive response from the participants. The on-site atmosphere was vibrant, with active engagement and discussions.
